New Release: Seiko Presage Cocktail Time Star Bar Limited Edition
Commentary
Cocktail Time Star Bar is a series within the Seiko Presage lineup where the inspiration is taken from the original cocktails.
The collection has grown over the years, and we have covered some of the earlier editions here:
- Presage Cocktail Time
- Seiko Pressage Cocktail Time Limited Edition “Fuyugeshiki”
- Seiko Presage Cocktail Time extended with two additional watches
The series is always not expensive, considering that they are quite finely made automatic movement, and often represent good value. And though the price was not available at time of publishing, we are certain it will be within the norms of the other Cocktail Time series and hover around EUR 450.
Release information
Two new models join the STAR BAR series. The watches are inspired by the original cocktails of one of the world’s leading bartenders, Mr. Hisashi Kishi, and evoke the exuberant city of Tokyo. The watches are limited to 5000 pieces each and feature a new skeletonized dial.
The first bartender to be awarded the “Contemporary Master Craftsman” award, STAR BAR owner Hisashi Kishi created these original cocktails, which are reminiscent of the traditional yet vibrant Tokyo cityscape.
The watch measures 11.6mm in thickness, with a diameter of 40.5mm. The lug to lug length is 47.5mm.
While one is light and bright and the other has a crimson hue, depicting different visual dimensions of the city, each drink is tied together with bitters and a citrus peel.
Equipped with the new caliber 4R72, each of these new models has a skeletonized dial design. It symbolizes ripples spreading out on the cocktail surface from the watch’s heart, the balance. The movement has approximately 41 hours power reserve.
The dials of the STAR BAR limited-edition models have a shape that allows a clear view of the rubies and the balance. Diamond cuts are applied throughout the dial. Legibility is ensured thanks to the distinctive hands and markers.
The see-through case back of the watch is marked with the words “Limited Edition” and the serial number, and it also allows the wearer to view the automatic mechanical movement working.
Each watch comes in a special limited-edition box. The watches will be available from Oct 2022.
