Audemars Piguet introduces its new models for the first half of 2023, with 6 new CODE 11.59 models, a new Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-thin, a yellow gold and turquoise Royal Oak self-winding, and a full ceramic Royal Oak Offshore.

New: Audemars Piguet novelties for the first half of 2023

CODE 11.59 

Discover six new references in 41 mm that have been created for the very first time in stainless steel. Four models come entirely in steel, while the other two combine a black ceramic case middle with a steel bezel, lugs and case back.

The full steel selfwinding models in Green and Blue are priced at US$25,300 while the Smoked Beige model with ceramic center case and crown is priced at US$27,800.

In addition to this new material, these timepieces feature a new aesthetic that emphasizes both ergonomics and legibility as well as introduces new dials with a pattern that has been specifically created for the collection. This new evolution in the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet collection continues to stand at the crossroads between technical modernity and ancestral craftsmanship.

The full steel models in Green and Blue are priced at US$35,000 while the Smoked Beige model with ceramic center case and crown is priced at US$37,400. The chronograph model uses caliber 4401 with flyback capability and 70hours power reserve.

Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-thin

This limited edition is powered by the Calibre 7121, the latest extra-thin movement that was introduced in January 2022 for the 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak. The 39 mm timepiece comes in a white gold case and will be available exclusively in Audemars Piguet boutiques.

It has a blue dial with “grainy effect”, which is likely done through embossing. The full gold watch is priced at US$78,300.

Royal Oak Selfwinding in 18-carat yellow gold case and turquoise dial

This new version of Audemars Piguet’s 37 mm Royal Oak Selfwinding model is entirely crafted in 18-carat yellow gold and is illuminated by a natural turquoise dial. This original combination of precious materials endows the timepiece with unprecedented radiance. Used in jewellery for more than 3,000 years, turquoise is a rare stone to which a wealth of positive attributes are ascribed and that naturally finds its place in the Royal Oak collection. The watch is priced at US$61,500.

Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph in full Ceramic

Introducing a new version of its Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph 42 mm, Audemars Piguet has chosen to house this new model in its black ceramic case with a matching bracelet and a black Petite Tapisserie dial for a contemporary monochrome look. This reference is powered by the Calibre 4404, Audemars Piguet’s integrated chronograph movement with a flyback function. The watch is priced at US$84,400. Comparatively, the full ceramic premium seems excessive, a regular titanium Offshore is $45K, and the new 11.59 is $37K for half ceramic and all with the same base caliber 4401/4 flyback movement. Then again, AP’s pricing is more correlated to scarcity than production value which explains the price multiplier when it comes to rarer models and novel designs.
