Commentary
The Panerai Luminor Due was a collection which was first introduced in 2017, as the mid-sized, unisex Luminor model. And for the first time, Panerai has a dress watch collection. We covered the launch editions in our full review in 2018. The movement then was designated as the OP XXXIV which is assumed to have been renamed the P.900 caliber which is now found inside the new Due. The movement is what is known as a Group movement, being sourced from a manufacture within the Richemont group, most likely ValFleurier.
What is new with this release is the gradation dial, from a lighter hue changing from light to dark from top (12 o’clock) to bottom (6 o’clock) on the dial. The dial retains the same sandwich construction with high legibility design that has stood the test of time, and the watch is equipped with the patented Luminor safety lock crown protection device. All other aspects remain the same as the existing Due line.

ll-new pastel color ways mark a first for Panerai in a modern key
Urban and effortless, the new Luminor Due 38mm collection is Panerai’s pulse on the contemporary while continuously reinterpreting its storied origins of high-precision timepieces rooted in distinction, aesthetics, and function. The timepieces feature dials in modern pastel palettes – a first-ever for the Maison. Set in a 38mm steel case with a metal bracelet that reflects the design ethos of Panerai’s watchmaking, the collection’s appeal accompanies wearers for the everyday city living wardrobe.
The elegantly sophisticated sandwich dials filled with white Super-Luminova® that illuminates in green in the dark are shaded with double-finishing polish that transitions from a lighter top to a darker gradient at the bottom. Available in pastel light blue, green, and powdery pink, the dial marks the date at 3 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock. A subtle Panerai inscription finishes the quintessentially cosmopolitan look of the pastel dials, highlighting the all-new colors, used for the very first time in the history of Panerai.
Accompanying the 38mm polished steel case with a closed back is a metal bracelet inspired by Panerai’s distinctive crown-protection device, where each link of the bracelet bears the iconic semi-oval profile of the safety-lock system. Alternating between polished and brushed finishes, the curved links lend a refined finesse to the timepieces that are perfect additions to the dress watch wardrobe.
Featuring novel proportions—slimmer, lighter, sleeker—while retaining the mechanical rigor of its predecessors, the Luminor Due watches express urban Italian sophistication.
The automatic P.900 calibre powers the Luminor Due 38mm with a three-day power reserve. The Luminor Due Collection is part of a boutique exclusive program with availability of 500 pieces per dial shade, per year.

It looks nice, but 50m WR ! You couldn’t flay that watch with a wet lettuce leaf.
That 50m water resistance makes the crown lock a bit of a joke
It looks like they intend for the bracelet never to be removed?
On the contrary, look at the lugs.
