In this week’s episode of Spot The Watch, we focus on the legendary Sergio Marchionne – CEO of Ferrari. As an industry veteran and visionary, he is considered to be a miracle worker following the revival of Chrysler from the brink of bankruptcy – an initiative led by him. However, during a recent interview, Marchionne confirmed plans to step down after 15-years at the helm. Although this is saddening news for the industry, it is not our main focus. Instead, we take a look and spot a few of his timepieces.
The first and most recent watch spotted on his wrist is an American-made Shinola Runwell. The timepiece sports a white dial, which provides a striking contrast against its black arabic numerals and leather strap. Although not confirmed, we speculate that Sergio is wearing the 47mm version due to its proportion on his wrist.
An interesting tidbit: the Shinola Runwell, albeit with a different dial variation, has also been spotted on the wrist of ex-US President Bill Clinton. More on the spot here.

The next piece spotted on his wrist is an IWC Pilot “Fliegeruhr” Chronograph IW3777-01. A sporty and versatile timepiece, it can be easily matched to any outfit. The watch features a chronograph complication with day-date display, and measures in at a contemporary size of 43mm. As this model is not found in the current IWC catalogue, we assume that its been discontinued.

The final and perhaps most befitting watch spotted is the Panerai Ferrari Grandturismo Chronograph. The watch is a collaboration piece between Ferrari and Panerai (hench the Ferrari branding), and is limited to 700-pieces. It is powered by the caliber OP XII – a movement based on the workhorse ETA 7753. Measuring in at 45mm, it is a rather large and chunky timepiece. But despite its size, we reckon that it sits rather nicely on Sergio’s wrist.
