Vacheron Constantin announces three new additions to their Historiques collection, viz the American 1921 Small Model, the Triple Calendrier 1942 and the Triple Calendrier 1948.
Historiques American 1921 Small Model (1100S/000R-B430) – SGD 42,800
Known as the watch for the dandies and chic, the Historiques American 1921 hails from an era of boldness in design and technical sophistication. The new model is now available in a 36.5 mm cushion shaped case in 18k 5N pink gold.
The model’s signature off-centred crown between 1 and 2 o’clock is still present.
This new release is faithful to the original, and is fitted with a lightly domed sapphire crystal and the Hallmark of Geneva certified Vacheron Constantin 4400 AS manual-winding caliber. Indications for hours, minutes and small seconds indications with a 65-hour power reserve. The transparent caseback shows the typical high level of finishing as we would expect from VC.
The Triple Calendars
Two new Historique models featuring complete calendars are also announced. The aesthetics of these models have a distinct vintage feel. the calendar function, round case with triple gadroons, two tone dial, claw-style lugs and a hand wound movement, they are availalbe as the Historiques Triple Calendrier 1942 presented in a stainless steel case and the Triple Calendrier 1948 with moonphase in 18k 5N pink gold case. Both in a case of 40mm diameter.
Their “triple-gadroon” case band lends a refined touch to the case which is water-resistant to 30 metres. Topped by a box-type glass of which and an extremely slender bezel.
Historiques Triple Calendrier 1942 (3110V/000A-B425 and 3110V/000A-B426) – SGD 28,600
The Triple Calendrier 1942 shows the hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock, along with hand-type date and day and month by aperture. The calendar indications appear in a choice of burgundy or dark blue, on a two-tone silvered dial typical of the era. The sunburst satin-finished centre and the outer zone punctuated by Arabic numerals clearly enhance the legibility of the respective functions.
Historiques Triple Calendrier 1948 (3100V/000R-B359 and 3100V/000R-B422) – SGD 51,300
This model is available in 18k 4N pink gold, a tone which is selected to be close to the original version. It revives the spirit of the reference 4240L in 1948, a triple calendar with a high precision lunar cycle (the L in its name), with a small seconds at 6.
The dial features a silvered opaline centre with a sunburst satin-finished external zone. This subtly nuanced display is interspersed with applied Roman numerals and triangle type hour-markers swept over by slim baton-type hands. Its calendar functions and its moon disc appear in a choice of burgundy or dark blue, teamed with a brown or dark blue leather strap secured by a pin buckle.
Both versions are a limited edition of 200 pieces each.

Peter, Thanks for your article. These models are incredible. I was amazed with the Harmony Calendar released last year, and now am even more amazed by these. The 1942 is perhaps one of the Greatest Value Propositions in Haute Horology today. I mean the superb Calibre 4400; the Vintage Calendar Display; Those Lugs, and Case made of Steel – and priced so very well, especially for the Historiques Collection. I am tempted. Bravo to VC.
The 1948 is gorgeous and the 400 owners will be lucky. And I hope they find a way to continue this model after the LE run is over. And I am sure many will find comfort with a smaller 1921.
I was thinking – please do a VC Vertical Collection, similar to the one you did for PP and Lange. I can help. Maybe even write one for you. 🙂
Best,
Kunal
