For this weeks Spot the Watch we are featuring a music producer and talent judge on shows such as American Idol, X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent. He is known for his no holds barred comments on contestants and his judge of talent. The person featured this week is Simon Cowell.
We have spotted a few interesting timepieces of note on the wrist of Mr Cowell. Simon Cowell was seen with various Breitling models when he was on Pop Idol (The original show before American Idol), he usually favoured the classic Navitimer. He has added a few standout pieces to his collection since then.
The first watch spotted on his wrist is from Chopard. The model is the Mille Miglia Chronograph. The Mille Miglia is one of Chopard’s most recognisable models, with its distinctive rubber tyre strap. From the colour of the chronograph subdials, the watch on Mr Cowells wrist is the titanium version. A nice watch to pair with a casual outfit.

The second watch spotted is one that Simon Cowell wears on a regular basis. He has worn it on nearly every Music/Talent show that he has appeared on in recent times. We are pretty certain he owns the same watch in both yellow gold and platinum. The watch in question is the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon à Quantième Perpétuel. The timepiece as the name suggests features a classical tourbillon, paired with a perpetual calendar with 4 digit year indicator. and moonphase represented by a subdial at 3 o’clock. The watch is self winding, which means if you are not wearing it, it could be popped on a watch winder so the perpetual calendar would be kept up to date, alleviating the hassle of having to adjust the indicators manually.

The final watch is another Jaeger LeCoultre. We would have featured Simon Cowell earlier in a Spot the Watch, but identifying this particular model proved a difficult task. He has been photographed wearing this watch on numerous occasions, but never in a photograph at the right angle to determine what model was on his wrist. We could tell from the deployant buckle that it was a JLC, and noted a couple of distinguishable markings on the dial that have we seen on other JLC models. After scrutinizing a picture found recently and with the help of Google Images, we finally identified the watch. The watch was the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Minute Repeater Regulateur. This model was released in 2009 as a limited edition of 100 pieces featuring a minute repeater with regulator style showing of the time. The watch certainly gets our vote!

We have spotted a couple of different watches on the wrist of Lauren Silverman, Simon Cowell’s partner. Her choices are very different to his.
The first watch spotted on her wrist is from Bulgari. It is the iconic Serpenti, which is shaped like a serpent and wraps around the wearer’s wrist. Certainly a timepiece that will get some attention.

The final watch spotted on her wrist is the Rolex Daytona. This seems to be a very popular watch for watch fans, since it is such an iconic watch!. Lauren Silverman is wearing an 18k yellow gold model with champagne dial and black subdials.
