Sinn is an innovative German company, well known for their tool watches, especially those designed to work for specialists working under extreme conditions.
We begin our BaselWorld2014 reports with the Belles of the Fair…beautiful watches which caught our eye.
The Sinn U1000 (EZM6), tegimented submarine steel case with a beautiful matt blue electroplated dial. Watch is delivered with a matt blue silicone strap and this beautiful grey NATO strap.
The Sinn U1000, also known as EZM6 is not a new watch, but in this new, beautiful, pastel blue dial is just introduced, and only available as a series only available for order from now until Dec 31, 2014.
The watch has a rugged, strong handsome aesthetic, case, dial, hands all speak of the same aesthetic. And coupled with a beautiful matt blue electroplated dial, we find this watch mesmerising.
Sinn U1000. Chronograph with center minute totalizer using the Sinn movement SZ02, which is temperature resistant from 45 °C up to + 80 °C, and a special sealing of the push pieces and crown to enable operation of the chronograph while diving.
But the watch is not all beauty, it has some interesting features as well. The case is made with a special tegiment technology which is claimed to make the case tougher and more scratch resistant than DLC. The case is rather heavy, made of high strength seawater resistant German submarine steel. The case is also filled with Argon gas. Instead of being cased in air, the case is closed in a tank which is filled with Argon. Argon, being a heavier gas than air, settles at the bottom of the tank where the case is being closed, and is sealed within the case. Sinn claims the Argon provides the case with dehumidifying properties.
The movement is self winding, 25 jewels, chronograph with 60 minute stopwatch hand and equipped with a diver’s bezel. Water resistant up to a diving depth of 1000m.
Beautiful on the wrist. Case is 44mm iameter and 18mm thick.
