We previously spotted Jason Statham wearing a couple of notable watches just from watching the trailer of the Mechanic: Resurrection. While watching the trailer for the upcoming movie Downsizing, starring Matt Damon, we caught sight of a familiar brand of watch during the trailer.
The premise of the movie Downsizing: Downsizing imagines what might happen if, as a solution to over-population, Norwegian scientists discover how to shrink humans to 5 inches (13 cm) tall and propose a 200-year global transition from big to small. People soon realize how much further money goes in a miniaturized world, and with the promise of a better life, everyman Paul Safranek (Matt Damon) and wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) decide to abandon their stressed lives in Omaha in order to become small and move to a new downsized community — a choice that triggers life-changing adventures.
Now from viewing the trailer, the people who decide to go ahead with shrinking themselves keep any important or momentous items in a box called Keepsake. We see Matt Damon character and his wife in the film played by Kristen Wiig, placing some items into the box. The item that caught our eye in the box? A stainless steel Rolex Oyster Date. From what we can tell it looks like a vintage piece with the Rolex crown visible at the 12 o’clock position and the familiar cyclops over the date at the 3 o’clock position. The Rolex must have some sentimental value to Damon’s character in some way.
