New Release: Pre-Basel 2018 Bell & Ross Lume Trilogy

Introducing the latest additions to the Bell & Ross family, the BR03-94 Horolum, the BR03-92 Horoblack and the BR03-92 NIGHTLUM.

Bell & Ross instrument watches have been designed according to the principles of industrial design. Based on a square case with a round dial, it focuses on basic, pure and simple lines. They share a common contemporary minimalist design with great legibility. Particularly, the micro-blasted steel of the “Horo” collection gives the look of modernity and purity.

The “Horo” line was launched last year in 2017 with the debut of the three-hand BR03-92 Horolum. This year, the brand adds two novelties to the collection: the BR03-94 Horolum and the BR03-92 Horoblack. Their name “Horo” is a reference to Bell & Ross’ concept using matte micro-blasted steel on the cases and sandwich dials for optimal readability.

The monobloc effect is achieved by steel blasting, which involves high-pressure spraying of tiny glass beads on the metal’s surface. This treatment “depolishes” the surface giving it a uniform appearance and a grey tone of high purity. The finish is matte, and therefore, anti-reflective. It also avoids
reflections in the sun. This process reinforces their graphic look and utilitarian purpose. The other common feature is the sandwich construction of the dial, which consists of two superimposed metal plates.

BR03-94 Horolum

The BR03-94 Horolum chronograph comes in a limited edition of 500 pieces and brings to mind light (“Lum”), and readability. The grade C3 Superluminova treatment facilitates reading during the day and at nighttime.

The color used for lighting landing strips, an intense green light that illuminates the tracks in the dark, is also used in the dial. It offers excellent luminescence and night readability. The indexes and giant numbers 12 and 6 are very legible and painted on the bottom plate. The green tinted Superluminova is ultra-phosphorescent and lasts a long time in the dark. It allows a persistent reading during the night hours. The dial has two counters for calculating short times and a tachymeter scale on the flange. The BR03-94 is mounted on a gray-green calfskin strap.

BR03-92 Horoblack

This three-hands model comes in a limited edition of 999 pieces, a simple and uncluttered display that features a graphic dial with clear indications. The case, in Bell & Ross’ emblematic shape, is machined in matte micro-blasted steel. The dial design is simple. The bar indexes and the four numbers: 12, 3, 6 and 9 enable an easy reading. This type of display is a classic at Bell & Ross, and its effectiveness is very well established. The identical finish of the box and the dial establishes a homogeneous block of the same hue. Indexes and hands play on the black and gray contrast, which guarantees optimal readability.

BR03-92 NIGHTLUM

The evergreen BR03-92 returns with an updated C3 grade Superluminova applied on the dial. Sharing the same characteristics with the family of instrument watches with the objective of optimum readability, it is an upgrade from the brand’s most iconic piece, the BR03-92. The “circle in a square” recalls the silhouette of a plane cockpit clock. The BR03-92 Nightlum returns to basics with its pure and clean lines, this time without minute markers between the indices. The display is set out to be in its simplest, uncluttered form with the graphic dial that boasts clear indications.
